The Independent Review Office is visiting Regional areas to host our Annual Seminars in March 2025 – the schedule for our visits is set out at the bottom of this Alert.
Feedback from a previous seminars included a recommendation that we ask local practitioners and others working in personal injury to present to their colleagues at our Seminars.
We’re acting on this feedback by calling for expressions of interest in presenting a paper at one (or a number) of our Regional Seminars.
Information about the Seminars
IRO Seminars are aimed at those working in workers compensation and motor accident injury compensation. Past attendees at Seminars include lawyers, insurance staff, employer staff, service providers (including rehabilitation and treatment providers) and public sector agencies.
Regional Seminars can have between 15-150 participants depending on the location (for example, seminars in Newcastle and Wollongong have the highest attendance).
What we need from you
If you’re interested in presenting at an IRO Regional Seminar, please provide an expression of interest, no later than Friday 20 December 2024.
Your topic should ideally relate to issues relevant to the NSW workers compensation and/or motor accident injury compensation schemes, and be of interest and value to those working in the schemes.
Please include the following information:
- your name and the organisation you work for
- the location(s) of the Seminar(s) you would like to present at
- a brief synopsis of your proposed presentation (no more than 500 words) – including the expected length of the presentation.
Please send your expression of interest by email to [email protected].
We’ll make contact with all those who express interest on or before 24 January 2025, to confirm whether you will be presenting, and if you are to provide more information about what we require from you.
If you’ve any questions about this initiative, please contact the IRO by email ([email protected]).
